Commercial EV & Fleet Charging in Massachusetts

Charging infrastructure for workplaces, commercial properties, and fleets. BD Electrical & Solar coordinates the electrical installation around charging demand, available power, site conditions, and future expansion.

Match the charging plan to the way vehicles use the site.

A workplace parking lot and a fleet depot have different needs. Vehicle dwell time, daily mileage, simultaneous charging, and operating schedules help determine the equipment and electrical capacity. We review those requirements before recommending an installation approach.

Our scope

What we plan and install

Workplace & destination charging

Level 2 installations for employee, tenant, customer, and visitor parking. Plan charger locations, accessibility, cable reach, protection, and the route back to the electrical source.

DC fast charging infrastructure

Service and distribution equipment, feeders, conduits, and charger connections for higher-power installations. Utility capacity and the civil scope are central to feasibility.

Fleet readiness & expansion

Evaluate charging schedules, simultaneous demand, and phased growth. Spare raceways and planned equipment space can support expansion where the site and budget allow.

Commercial charging experience

Our Tewksbury DC fast charging project shows the commercial electrical infrastructure behind a charging installation. Charger selection is only one part of the work; distribution, routing, equipment placement, and utility coordination determine how the system comes together.

At Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable, our solar carport and EV charging work connects on-site generation with vehicle charging in a campus setting.

Where charging requires additional capacity, explore our commercial service upgrades and power distribution and commercial electrical construction capabilities.

From assessment to installation

01

Define charging demand

Share vehicle types, parking duration, fleet schedules, anticipated growth, and available electrical drawings. Identify who will use and manage the chargers.

02

Coordinate power & site work

Review service capacity, charger locations, trenching, restoration, foundations, bollards, networking, and accessibility responsibilities. Utility upgrades may affect the scope.

03

Install & commission

Coordinate the electrical work, inspections, equipment startup, and the agreed handoff. Network activation, payment settings, and ongoing software fees are addressed with the selected provider.

Planning questions

Should we choose Level 2 or DC fast charging?

The decision depends on vehicle compatibility, dwell time, energy needed between trips, available power, and budget. Faster charging is not automatically the best fit for every parking space.

Can load management avoid a service upgrade?

It may help in some designs, but the answer depends on existing demand, charging requirements, equipment capabilities, and utility acceptance. It needs project-specific review.

Does the installation price include networking and subscriptions?

The proposal should identify equipment, electrical work, civil work, commissioning, and any network services included. Recurring software or payment-processing costs depend on the provider.
