Why Choose Powerwall 3?

BD Electrical & Solar installs Tesla Powerwall 3 across Massachusetts. We assess your electrical service, existing solar, and the loads you want to keep running, then design the battery capacity and controls around your home.

Powerwall 3 combines battery storage with an integrated solar inverter. It can serve new solar projects or compatible existing systems. Backup coverage and runtime depend on your equipment, energy use, and system configuration.

Backup sized for your loads

Whole-home or selected-load backup starts with an electrical assessment. We review simultaneous demand, motor starting loads, and runtime goals before recommending the number of batteries and any load management.

Make better use of solar

Store solar production for later and manage your backup reserve in the Tesla app. Bill savings depend on your rate, export credits, operating settings, and eligible utility programs.

Plan for Massachusetts weather

Equipment location, clearances, temperature, snow, and flood exposure matter. We select an installation location that meets manufacturer and local requirements.

Coordinate EV charging

Charging an EV uses substantial energy. We plan charging priorities alongside household loads so vehicle charging does not unexpectedly consume your outage reserve. Vehicle-to-home backup requires separate compatible equipment.

One Simple, Scalable Solution

  • 13.5 kWh nominal stored energy per Powerwall 3.
  • Integrated solar inverter; compatible transfer controls, metering, and electrical protection are still required.
  • Additional Powerwall units can add output and storage. Expansion units add stored energy and runtime, not inverter output.
  • Current US design guidance supports up to four Powerwall 3 units and three Expansion units, subject to equipment compatibility and site design.
  • 10-year limited warranty, subject to Tesla’s applicable terms.

COMPLETED PROJECT · MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA

Tesla Powerwall as Part of a Complete Home Energy System

BD designed and installed a Middleborough system combining rooftop and pole-mounted solar, Tesla Powerwall storage, SPAN controls, and Level 2 EV charging. With limited roof space, we coordinated additional solar generation with the home’s storage, electrical distribution, and backup priorities.

Our scope included foundations, underground electrical infrastructure, battery and backup controls, utility interconnection, and commissioning. Circuit-level controls help the homeowner prioritize available battery energy during an outage.
