Brett Duguay’s Journey: Founder of BD Electrical & Solar

Brett Duguay has had a passion for electrical technologies since high school, while attending Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical.  He graduated with a certification in Computer Information Technology and then pursued electrical post graduation.  In 2008 be hegan working for LeBeau Electric & Telephone, Inc. out of New Bedford, MA where he specialized in industrial controls and power, custom lighting in homes on Martha’s Vineyard as well as alarm system installation on the South Shore.  In 2010 he started working for S. Donnelly Electric, Inc. out of Middleboro.  There he specialized in commercial electrical installation around the Greater Boston Area and Nantucket Island, niche electrical installation (research labs, marine & dock, HVAC controls) at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute,  fire alarm systems at several Boston post offices, and custom lighting in residential homes.  Once licensed, he was eager to go out on his own and pursue his passion for energy conservation and solar energy.   

Brett continued his education and became a master electrician in 2014.  Since then, he has promoted clean energy through solar installation, energy efficient lighting, and powering installs with his personally designed solar trailer.  He has completed a broad range of projects from clean energy and energy efficiency to multi-unit condos and apartments to commercial installations like office renovations, warehouses, repair garages, cannabis dispensaries, research labs, and retail. With over 4 megawatts of solar personally installed, he believes that being energy consciousness can be instrumental to our infrastructure as well as preserving the earth, and he will work tirelessly to help customers determine ways that they can do their part.
