The Electrical Foundation
From the Trades to Building BD.
Brett entered the trades after high school in 2007 and founded BD in 2014. His interest in electrical technology began at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, where he graduated with a certification in Computer Information Technology.
He went on to build hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and specialized electrical work, then became a Master Electrician in 2014. That experience continues to shape BD Electrical & Solar’s approach to planning and installing complete electrical and energy systems.

2007
Entering the Trades
After high school, Brett pursued the electrical trade and began developing the technical skills that would become the foundation of his career.
2008–2010
Residential & Industrial Work
At LeBeau Electric & Telephone in New Bedford, Brett worked on industrial controls and power, custom residential lighting on Martha’s Vineyard, and alarm installations on the South Shore.
2010–2014
Commercial & Specialized Projects
At S. Donnelly Electric in Middleboro, his work included commercial installations around Greater Boston and Nantucket, research labs, marine and dock electrical work, HVAC controls at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, fire alarms, and custom home lighting.
BD Founded in 2014
Electrical Contracting with a Broader Energy Vision.
After earning his Master Electrician license, Brett founded BD to combine dependable electrical contracting with his interest in energy conservation and solar power. His work has included solar installations, energy-efficient lighting, and a personally designed solar trailer used to power installations.
His project experience spans homes, multi-unit housing, office renovations, warehouses, repair garages, dispensaries, research laboratories, and retail facilities. Today, BD brings electrical construction together with solar, battery storage, EV charging, smart panels, and backup power for homeowners and businesses.

Brett’s focus is on understanding the property, the electrical infrastructure, and the customer’s goals before recommending equipment. From a home service upgrade to a commercial energy installation, the aim is a coordinated system built around how it will be used.
