BD Electrical & Solar is a leading provider of electrical and solar installation services in the Greater Boston area. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar panel installation, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to promoting renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install solar panel systems on rooftops and other structures for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
- Perform site assessments to determine the optimal placement of solar panels.
- Assemble, mount, and secure solar modules and arrays according to specifications and safety guidelines.
- Connect solar panels to the electrical system, including wiring, grounding, and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to solar panel installation and operation.
- Maintain and service installed solar systems as required.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members, including electricians, project managers, and other installers.
- Educate clients on system operation and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a solar installer or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with electrical and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in solar energy systems (e.g., NABCEP certification).
- Experience with solar permitting and inspection processes.
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and systems.
